Job Description



Sika Corporation USA is looking for an experienced Plant Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing facility in Mesquite, TX. This role is critical in ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and overall productivity while fostering a high-performance culture.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead daily plant operations across production, maintenance, quality, safety, and logistics to ensure smooth and efficient performance.

  • Champion safety and compliance by maintaining programs that meet OSHA, EPA, Fire Marshall, and other regulatory standards.

  • Drive performance and productivity by analyzing key metrics, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing data-driven solutions.

  • Oversee hiring, training, and development of operations staff, ensuring team alignment with company goals and safety standards.

  • Manage production planning and inventory flow in collaboration with Supply Chain and Planning teams.

  • Monitor product quality and consistency, reduce waste, and improve scrap rates through continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Develop and manage budgets , capital projects, and cost-reduction strategies while maintaining quality and operational standards.

  • Ensure equipment and facility maintenance meets safety, efficiency, and security standards.

  • Establish team accountability , conduct performance reviews, and coach employees for growth and success.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement , innovation, and operational excellence.

  • What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing or plant operations role.

  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and compliance (OSHA, EPA, etc.).

  • Experience in production planning, process optimization, and team management.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a data-driven mindset.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across departments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemical, electrical or other related degree preferred or 8+ years progressive. experience in a key leadership/management role at a manufacturing facility with technical aptitude and analytical skills.
  • Previous experience / strong understanding of budgeting / expense management with a basic understanding of financial and accounting practices.
  • Strong computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Products (Outlook / Word /Excel / PowerPoint).
  • Previous experience / best practices implementing and using continuous improvement / lean tools such as: Six Sigma,Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc. to drive improvement.
