Job Description

Job Position: Protestant Music Director.
Location: Whiteman Air Force Base, MO 65305
Job Type: Part Time.
Requirements:

1. 1. The applicant shall provide a resume. A short 1–3-minute video of their vocal performance/capabilities.

 

1. 1. The applicant shall demonstrate a basic knowledge of the Christian Faith (Protestant) and be familiar with the musical traditions/customs of the Protestant Contemporary
   2. community.
   3. The applicant shall have training and experience in worship planning and have musical instrument abilities. He or she shall have the ability to direct, produce, and arrange as needed.
   4. The applicant shall be able to read sheet music notes, not required, playing the keyboard and/or guitar with tempo, rhythm, and registration to a large congregation is preferred.

 

1. 1. The applicant will be proficient in: Quality vocal performance, able to learn new music via sheet music (preferred) or cords (acceptable) & perform vocal sheet music, able to play a minimum of one musical instrument, recruit talented volunteer musicians and
   2. vocalists of all ages, build cohesive music teams/choirs, effectively leading congregational worship (determined by video or in person).
   3. The applicant shall be able to lead a music team to perform a wide variety of Protestant worship music to include the full range of Contemporary worship music.

Duties: The Protestant Contemporary Music Director shall:

 

1. 1. Be responsible for leading and providing services at the Protestant Contemporary Service.

 

1. 1. Work in conjunction with the Senior Protestant Chaplain or designee to coordinate and plan for all Protestant Contemporary Services, to include Sunday morning worship and
   2. special events as directed by the Senior Protestant Chaplain or designee.
   3. Directs the Worship Team with guidance from the Senior Protestant Chaplain or designee.

 

1. 1. Work with the Senior Protestant Chaplain or designee on a weekly basis to pick out songs that are fitting and appropriate for Protestant Contemporary Service, and in accordance with the Senior Protestant Chaplain’s vision.

 

1. 1. Will be responsible for conducting rehearsals (at least) once a week but cannot be on the same day as worship service.

 

1. 1. Have all songs selected and distributed to the Worship Team no later than 24 hours prior to rehearsal so that sufficient time is given to prepare and rehearse the music
   2. individually.

 

1. 1. Assist in set up and tear down of musical equipment for each worship service as required.

1. 1. Arrive NLT 10 minutes prior to any rehearsal, and NLT 30 minutes to any service or
   2. special event. The Contractor shall maintain a written log of work performed under this contract.
